Jean-Marc Alexandre (born 24 August 1986) is a Haitian international footballer who plays professionally for San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer and the Haiti national football team, as both a midfielder and forward.

Career

Youth and College

Born in Verrettes, Haiti,[1] Alexandre grew up Delray Beach, Florida, attended Atlantic High School, and played college soccer at Lynn University. During his collegiate years he also played in the USL Premier Development League with Palm Beach Pumas and Ventura County Fusion.[2]

Professional

Alexandre was drafted in the first round (12th overall) in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake. He made his professional debut on 28 March 2009, coming on as a substitute in RSL's game against Seattle Sounders.[3] He was loaned out to USL-1 side Austin Aztex in May 2009.

Alexandre scored his first goal for RSL on June 4, 2011 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.[4]

Alexandre was traded by Salt Lake to San Jose Earthquakes on December 1, 2011 in exchange for a first round pick in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft.[5]

International

Alexandre is a full international for Haiti, having played in three friendlies in 2008, starting against Honduras, and coming off the bench against Trinidad & Tobago twice.[6] Alexandre made three further appearances in 2009 and one in 2010. On September 2, 2011, Alexandre scored his first two international goals, scoring against the U.S. Virgin Islands in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification match.
